Classification of Water Tanks

Based on the how the water is taken to the tank and how it is used for distribution, we can classify water tanks into:

1. Well Pressure Tanks
2. Thermal Expansion Tanks
3. Reverse Osmosis Tanks
4. Water Storage Tanks

1. Well Pressure Tanks

Well pressure tanks are used to store water from a well. They are typically used in homes or businesses that have their own wells for water supply.

2. Thermal Expansion Tanks

3. Reverse Osmosis Tanks

Reverse osmosis tanks are used to store water that has been purified by a reverse osmosis system. They are typically used in homes or businesses that have their own water purification systems.

4. Water Storage Tanks

Water storage tanks are used to store water for future use. They are typically used in homes or businesses that have a well or other source of water that is not always available. It is also be used to store water for fire suppression. They are typically made of concrete, steel, or plastic. They can be constructed above ground or underground.

 

The working of a water storage tank is relatively simple. Water is pumped into the tank from a source, such as a well or a municipal water supply. The water is then stored in the tank until it is needed. When water is needed, it is pumped out of the tank and distributed to the plumbing system.
