ASTM-A615: Standard Specification for Deformed and Plain Carbon-Steel Bars for Concrete Reinforcement is the code for carbon steel bars or blacks bars. The code covers four grades, Grade 40, 60, 75, and 80. 

ASTM A615 bars are commonly used in low-stress and less-demanding applications. It is economical in situations where a tremendous level of tensile strength is not necessary. The strength of black bars are dependent on the grade and they are available in various standard sizes.
