The rolled steel bar section used as structural have mainly two classifications based on Indian Standards.

They are:

1. Indian Standard Round Bars (ISRO)
2. Indian Standard Square Bars (ISSQ)

Indian Standard Round Bars (ISRO)

This type of bar is designated by ISRO 10. This means the round bar having a diameter of 10mm. The ISRO round bars are available in sizes 6,8,10,12,16,20,22,25mm etc. 

Indian Standard Square Bars ( ISSQ)

This bar is designated by ISSQ 10. This means the square bars of size 10mm diameter. Bar sections are used as reinforcement, grill for windows and handrails of staircases, gates, etc
